Please read these terms of service before commissioning anything from us! By sending us a payment for any of our products, you agree to abide by the terms written below.
Quotes
Receiving a Quote from us does not lock you into a contract- it is simply a way to give a clear estimate on the cost of your fursuit. Once you receive a quote from us, you may agree to it and we will send you an invoice for the down payment, provided we are currently accepting commissions. Any quotes you receive are valid for 60 days after they have been issued. After 60 days have elapsed, you will need to contact us for a new quote.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age or older to commission any product from Slate Sloth Studios, no exceptions. We require that a government-issued ID be presented to prove this. Your Name, date of birth, and photo must be visible, but any other information can be censored. We reserve the right to request additional proof of age if necessary.
Payment
For Custom Fursuits, Artistic Liberty fursuits, Adoptable fursuits, and Fursuit Parts:
Payments will be accepted in USD only. A NON-REFUNDABLE down payment is required to secure a commission slot from us. This down payment is 50% of the total price given in the quote for the fursuit. Once the down payment has been received, and the suit before yours in the queue has been completed(if applicable), work will begin on your fursuit. When the fursuit is complete and ready to ship, the remaining cost of the fursuit must be paid before it is shipped to you. We will not accept the remainder of payment until the fursuit is finished and ready to ship. From the date of completion (the commissioner will be notified via email or other correspondence), the commissioner will have 6 months to pay the remaining balance for the fursuit. If payment has not been received, we will reach out to the commissioner with a reminder. 1 week after the payment reminder, the commission will be dropped with no refund. In the event of this occurring, we reserve the right to resell any parts created before the commission was dropped. We offer different payment plans as well- please reach out to us BEFORE submitting your down payment if you require a different payment plan.
For Premade fursuits:
Premade Fursuits must be paid for in full before they will be sent to you. We do not accept payment plans for premade fursuits at this time.
Warranty
Any product received from us comes with a 90 day warranty from the date of shipping. The warranty covers damages such as holes or ripped seams in a fursuit, as well as any part that has not been properly sized. Parts that have intentionally been incorrectly sized by the commissioner (such as an incorrectly sized bodysuit due to an improperly created duct tape dummy, or asking for fursuit feet with the wrong shoe size on purpose) are not covered by this warranty. Any modifications done to your fursuit that are not preformed by us will void your warranty immediately and you will be required to pay a fee for any repairs. When sending us your fursuit parts for repair, please clean them first. If the fursuit parts are emitting an unpleasant odor or are visibly stained (unless the repair is to replace the stained fur), a $150 USD cleaning fee will be incurred.
Shipping
The person ordering the fursuit is responsible for paying the shipping costs of any product sent to them by Scruff and Tumble, and any part they send to Scruff and Tumble. Under some circumstances (such as heavily delayed fursuit completion) we may offer to cover shipping, in which case we are responsible; However, this is not common and a commissioner should expect to pay the shipping for their fursuit and/or parts when ordering from us.
Repairs and Refurbishments
If you need a repair on your fursuit, or if your suit has been worn down from use and you would like to have it refurbished, we will gladly do so for you. Please get in touch with us through email and we would be glad to help you. Once correspondence has occurred, we will ask you to send us the part in question, and we will perform the requested service for a small fee. The fee must be paid before the repairs/refurbishments will occur, and the parts will not be returned until the fee has been paid. Please clean any and all parts you plan on sending us for repair, or you will be charged an additional $150 cleaning fee as outlined in the “Warranty” section.
Deadlines
Because the complexity of our projects varies wildly, we are unable to offer absolute deadlines, but we can give you an estimated time of completion once construction has begun on your fursuit or fursuit parts. Delays can occur for unforseen reasons, and you will be contacted if such an event occurs. We currently DO NOT offer guaranteed convention deadlines- this is to ensure we have the time to create the highest quality fursuit for you that we can.
Character Ownership
When submitting an application for a custom fursuit, you are required to present a reference sheet for the character you would like us to make. You may only submit reference sheets for characters you own, and submitting a reference sheet to the form stands as your confirmation that you either designed the character yourself or that you own all relevant and necessary rights to use the character for this purpose. We reserve the right to request additional proof of ownership, and we may independently reach out to the original artists of a reference sheet to verify ownership if necessary. Should it be proven that you have submitted a character that you do not own, your commission will be canceled, you will be refunded, and you will be blacklisted from working with us in the future.
Miscellaneous
- Scruff and Tumble is a company that produces fursuits and fursuit parts. These costumes can reduce your vision, dexterity, and range of movement, and you will almost certainly get very hot while wearing them. We are not responsible for any injuries or negative repercussions that occur as a result of wearing one of our costumes. Remember: A fursuit is worn at the risk of the wearer.
- Fursuits and fursuit parts are handcrafted items, and as a result, they may contain small inconsistencies or imperfections.
- All agreements concerning commissions will be made in writing, and anything agreed upon by both parties in writing, regardless of where the correspondence occurs, is a binding contract and will be treated as such.
